Scope/semester hours per week A total of 30 teaching units (2 SWS)
Prerequisites Participation in French B1 compact or proof of comparable prior knowledge in the placement test
Learning objectives The course is orientated towards level B2 of the CEFR. All skills are practised, with a focus on everyday conversations and texts on general topics.

Listening

Students will be able to

- understand spoken language in everyday situations, even with background noise

- follow longer speeches on cultural and social topics, provided that standard language is used

Reading

Students practise

- quickly find important individual pieces of information in long/complex texts on various topics

Interaction

Students practise

- participate spontaneously and fluently in conversations on general topics

- express their opinion in a discussion and explain it with arguments and comments

Oral production

Students learn to

- various. Students learn to describe various topics clearly and systematically, backing them up with examples

Writing

Students practise

- write structured texts on familiar topics

- write letters and describe feelings in a differentiated way

Proof of performance through

- Regular attendance (proof is provided by attendance lists)

- Written examination of approx. 90 min

- usually an oral examination lasting approx. 10 min

- Additional work if necessary
