ESP- English for Specific Purposes
The Language Centre offers courses under the name "English for Specific Purposes" for students of the Faculties of EIM, Mechanical Engineering, Natural Sciences and Economics.
The course programme changes every semester and includes a total of eleven subject-specific courses, which are based on level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. The courses focus on different areas in the fields of writing skills, oral skills and academic writing. They combine subject-specific content with professionally relevant skills, such as English for the workplace and studying abroad.
Since the winter semester 14/15, the ZfS has been accredited to issue the subject-specific certificate level UNIcert?-II for Technical English. You can find more information here.
Important notes
1. these courses are aimed exclusively at students of the respective departments mentioned.
2. all students attending an English course at the ZfS for the first time must register for the placement test (L.ZfS.04444) during the 1st registration phase.
3. participation is only possible if you achieve at least 60 points in the placement test.
