Reading comprehension and language use (90 minutes)

Task 1:

The candidate should understand both the main message and specific data in texts from the general or professional field (contracts, instructions, brochures, reports, regulations, etc.) (650-750 words). There is a multiple-choice procedure with three possible answers.

Task 2:

The candidate should complete the structure of a text by inserting text fragments into the cloze text in the correct order. The candidate must understand the context of the individual text fragments and the structure of the text. These are literary texts (550-650 words). Six fragments must be inserted.

Task 3:

The candidate must understand the content of the text (550-650 words), comprehending the author's intention or point of view by recognising the author's attitude and implied or explicit opinion. The texts are reports, newspaper articles and reports from the professional and academic fields. To answer, there is a multiple-choice procedure with three given answer options.

Task 4:

Specific data and information must be recognised in short texts from the academic field (short reviews, summaries of lectures, articles, etc.) (100-150 words). The texts must be linked to short statements.

Task 5:

Fourteen vocabulary gaps of a longer and complex text (375-425 words) on specific topics from the professional or academic field (extracts from magazines, books or specialised newspapers) must be filled with given answer options.

Listening comprehension and language use (50 minutes)

To be played:

1. A lecture from the academic field: the task is to select six out of twelve possible answers.
2. Four medium-length dialogues: The aim is to identify the intentions, feelings and attitudes of the interlocutors and give multiple-choice answers.
3. One long dialogue: Core statements and specific content are to be recognised. The task is to answer the questions using the multiple-choice method.
4. Ten short dialogues deal with everyday topics: The corresponding situational and sociolinguistic reactions of the dialogue partners are to be identified and the questions answered using the multiple-choice procedure.

Break (30 minutes)

Integrated skills. Listening comprehension and written expression (80 minutes)

1. A listening example is played, e.g. a lecture or a conference: the task is to write an argumentative essay (220-250 words) using the notes taken from what has been heard. What has been heard should be summarised and your own opinion integrated.
2. Writing a formal text (220-250 words), e.g. in the form of a newspaper article or a letter to the editor.

Integrated skills. Reading comprehension and oral expression (20 minutes)

The oral expression test consists of three tasks:

1. Presentation of a topic (3-5 minutes).
2. Conversation about the topic presented (4-6 minutes).
3. Colloquial conversation: negotiation (4-6 minutes).

Candidates have 20 minutes to prepare for tasks 1 and 2 before the exam.
