About the film
The eternal battle between good and evil: the devil makes a bet with God to dissuade Doctor Faustus from the right path. Mephisto seduces Faust, who seduces Gretchen, and in the end Murnau turns the fable, which he has limited to the essentials and brought to the screen in 16mm format, into a visually stunning work.
