The Ethics Committee is responsible for the following matters:
The Ethics Committee is a body appointed by the Senate. Upon request, it examines and evaluates research projects of scientists and students of Paderborn University according to ethical criteria with regard to the protection of human dignity, the autonomy and self-determination of people involved in research projects, as well as in safety-relevant cases, and issues statements on individual research projects.
The members of the Ethics Committee with voting rights are:
1. four members of the group of university teachers
2. one member of the group of academic staff
3. one member of the group of technical and administrative staff
4. one member of the group of students.
