North Rhine-Westphalian Academy of Sciences, Humanities and the Arts
The North Rhine-Westphalian Academy of Sciences and the Arts is a scientific academy in Germany. Based in Düsseldorf, the Academy fosters the exchange of scientific ideas among its members and with representatives of the state's political and economic life, as well as relations with scientific institutions and scholars in Germany and abroad. It can encourage scientific research and advises the state government on research funding. The North Rhine-Westphalian Academy is divided into three scientific classes and one class of the arts.
