The Pro­gramme

  • The Paderborn University's Buddy Programme brings incoming international exchange students and Paderborn students together.
  • In this programme, Paderborn students accompany the newly arrived international exchange students during their arrival and life in Paderborn.
  • By providing support, information and advice, students make it easier for international students to get started at Paderborn University and settle in.
  • New contacts with international exchange students and other buddies
  • Improved language skills
  • First-hand information about the future study country or partner university
  • Participation in joint activities of the Buddy Programme with Eurobiz
  • Official certificate of voluntary commitment
  • Long-term international friendships
  • If you feel like it: Participation in Eurobiz activities for exchange students
  • Contacting the international exchange student before arrival
  • Collection of keys from the hall of residence (caretaker's opening hours are often not convenient on arrival)
  • Personal meeting with the exchange student after arrival in Paderborn (possibly reception at the railway station or airport of arrival)
  • Support with moving into the hall of residence
  • Be the contact person for questions
  • Assistance with visits to the authorities (e.g. residents' registration office, health insurance)
  • Tips for everyday life (e.g. shopping facilities, public transport, etc.)
  • Involvement in student life (e.g. participation in Eurobiz events, such as cooking together, excursions, etc.)
