HOUSING
There are various options for living in Paderborn - the most common of these are described below for your assistance. Please make sure to indicate your preference accordingly in your application in Mobility Online.
Student Residence
Each semester, the Studierendenwerk Paderborn (STW) reserves a limited number of rooms in their halls of residence for exchange students. Students live together in shared flats with 2 or 4 persons near the campus, usually in the building complex Vogeliusweg.
In these accommodations everyone has their own room (with bed, closet, desk and chair) and shares the kitchen, bathroom and common room with one or three students. In addition, the STW offers rooms of Paderborn students who are abroad for one or more semesters. These are usually private rooms in shared flats (WG).
If you are interested in this offer from the Studierendenwerk, please indicate this in your online-application in Mobility Online under "Accomodation" (applications directly to the STW are not possible). The STW housing office will then make you an offer in due course.
We will send you the access link for your online application after we have received and accepted your nomination, which needs to be made by your home university.
Building Complex Vogeliusweg
The rent is 365 - 385 €/month (please note that prices are subject to change). In addition to this, there is a one-off payment of 400 € (deposit for the room in a shared flat - the fee for the final cleaning of 110 € is already included).
Please note: If you have not caused any damage and no additional cleaning are required due to neglected maintenance of the apartment, you will receive a portion of the deposit back at the end of your stay. If the expenses for repairs etc. exceed the deposit you will be charged.
