For pupils: New online meetings of the Paderborn Maths Circle

Location: Online

Paderborn University's maths circle, in which students can learn about exciting mathematical topics beyond the school curriculum, is entering a new round in the coming summer semester. Online meetings via Zoom are planned for three Saturdays, each from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., to promote young maths talents and those interested in STEM subjects. The online meetings will take place in an interactive workshop format. In addition to the access data for the video conference, a workbook will be sent in advance for each online workshop. Interested students who are familiar with middle school maths and enjoy logical thinking are cordially invited to participate. Dr Kerstin Hesse, head of the individual workshops, recommends that experience has shown that participation is possible from Year 9 onwards.

On 10 May, the topic is "Numerical Integration". "Prime numbers and prime twins" is the topic on 24 May. The round concludes with a workshop on 14 June on the topic of "Geometric figures in the square grid". Participation is free of charge. The flyer with the topic descriptions, as well as further information and the registration form, can be found on the Paderborn Maths Circle website.
