The Stand­ing Com­mis­sion for Safe­guard­ing Good Re­search Prac­tice is re­spons­ible for the fol­low­ing mat­ters:

The commission is tasked with contributing to the further development of standards and the creation of recommendations for good research practice, investigating allegations of scientific misconduct and conducting the corresponding procedure in accordance with Section 13 of the regulations. It works closely with the University's ombudsperson, although the latter is not a member. The commission is appointed on the recommendation of the Presidential Board in agreement with the Senate.

The responsibility of the Examination, Doctoral and Habilitation Committees as well as the Faculty Boards for determining and penalising academic misconduct in study and examination matters and in direct connection with the awarding of academic degrees remains unaffected.

The commission shall consist of the following members with voting rights for a period of two years

  • five members of the group of university lecturers (one member per faculty)
  • two members of the group of academic staff
  • one member from the group of technical and administrative employees
  • one member of the group of students

A deputy is appointed for each member, who can take over in the event of concerns of bias or incapacity. The commission can call in other suitable persons in an advisory capacity.
