2. CLEANING OF THE FLAT

The caretaker checks the entire flat every time you move out. To save you additional costs, the following points should be taken care of before you move out:

  1. leave the room swept clean - i.e. clear personal belongings from your room, dispose of rubbish and sweep.
  2. thoroughly cleanthe communal areas (kitchen, bathroom, corridor...).

PLEASE NOTE: The cleaning of shared rooms must be done by all flatmates together. Get together with your flatmates in good time and agree who will do what. The costs for subsequent cleaning due to a lack of cleanliness can be up to €300 (prices subject to change) and will be charged equally to all flatmates at a later date.

3. ACCEPTANCE OF THE FLAT AND HANDING OVER THE KEYS

On the date agreed with the caretaker, he will inspect your flat in your presence. Both your room and the communal rooms will be checked for cleanliness and damage. The condition of the flat will then be recorded in a handover report , which you must sign. Your account details from your home country will also be noted on the handover report so that the remaining deposit can be transferred later. Therefore, please have your account details ready when you hand over the flat and ask the caretaker to give you a copy of the protocol or to take a photo of it.

At the end of the flat inspection, the caretaker will ask you to hand over the key . It is then no longer possible to stay in your room.

4. CLEANING

For the cleaning of your room, a fee of €110 (prices subject to change) will be charged for professional final cleaning by a company. This amount will be deducted from your deposit. The remainder of your deposit will be refunded to you, provided that the communal areas of the flat have been left clean, do not need painting and there is no damage .

You will receive the money by bank transfer to the account you provided to STW. Please note that for administrative reasons it may take up to 6 - 8 weeks after you move out for the transfer to be made. A cash payment is only possible in exceptional cases and in consultation with STW.

5. DONATIONS IN KIND

If you would like to donate items, e.g. household items in good condition, please contact Eurobiz (see contacts). The Eurobiz team is grateful for every donation and will pass them on to other exchange students free of charge.

6. LUGGAGE

When planning your departure, please bear in mind that it is not possible to store your luggage in your student residence after you have moved out of your flat.

7. PROPERTY LEFT BEHIND

The student residence administration will not forward any items that students have left behind when they move out. Therefore, please make sure that you do not leave anything behind in your flat.
