Political Economy of the Media and Communication
Overview
The goal of this project is to theorise and analyse the politics and economy of the media and communication as well as the combination of politics and economy of the media and communication (political economy). It elaborates contributions to the international research field of the Political Economy of Communication and the Media.
The main question this project asks is the following one:
How does the political economy of the media and communication work?
To answer the main research question, an approach is taken that combines theory, empirical research, and philosophy. A variety of themes is explored by engaging with the approaches of classical and contemporary theorists, further developing their approaches and philosophies. Critical methods and theories of the Political Economy of Communication are further developed.
