Paderborn University would like to grow its alumni network and stay in touch with its former students and staff all over the world. To this end, the UPB central alumni management, led by Nicola Weinert, International Projects and Alumni Relations Coordinator, and Alexandra Dickhoff, Networking and Alumni Officer, has developed and launched a bilingual online portal. At https://alumniportal.upb.de/?lang=us, alumni of Paderborn University around the world can register, network with other alumni, and thus stay in touch with "their" UPB. This free service is available to anyone who studied, did their doctorate, taught or worked at Paderborn University.
News, events and services for alumni
The new portal provides comprehensive information on services and activities for alumni: news, references to events as well as regular newsletters and info mails offer alumni many opportunities to stay up-to-date on the developments of Paderborn University, as well as to take advantage of the various services offered to UPB alumni.
Alumni commitment to the network
The UPB alumni network thrives on the exchange between its members and on people who would like to pass on their knowledge and skills. In future, alumni will therefore be able to contribute their experiences and ideas to the portal and university life in various ways.
Decentralised alumni networks as groups in the portal
In addition to the central alumni management of UPB, a large number of decentralised initiatives offer activities for alumni. This combination of centralised and decentralised alumni work has proven very successful in recent years. The portal offers the possibility for decentralised initiatives to set up specific faculty, subject or regional groups with their own offers and internal exchange opportunities.
The portal is to be further expanded in the future and filled with additional offers and content.
