New sports and health programmes for students and staff at Paderborn University
Studying and working in a sporty, active and healthy way is possible at Paderborn University. The student health management team has some new sports and health offers up its sleeve for the coming summer semester.
New "Recharge" bike
The new "Recharge" bike will be inaugurated on Tuesday, 6 May. It will regularly ride around the campus during lunch breaks and has games such as roundnet, football, badminton and Viking chess for an active break.
New room in the AStA Stadtcampus for a relaxing break
The new room in the AStA city campus is multifunctional. During opening hours, it can be used as a place to relax and unwind. The room has been equipped with appropriate furniture such as armchairs and sofas for this purpose. In addition, yoga and Pilates classes are now also offered exclusively for students and staff. The yoga course takes place on Wednesdays from 8 to 9 pm. This is followed directly by a Pilates class from 9 pm to 10 pm. Anyone interested can register via the university sports booking system.
"Mental First Aid" goes into the next round
Mental First Aid trains students and employees as mental first aiders. In the training courses, participants learn how to recognise mental stress and overload as well as characteristics of illnesses and how to act in order to offer those affected initial support in discussions. The registration phase for students starts on Monday, 31 March. The courses will take place in June. Two runs are planned for employees. The course in May is already fully booked. There is a waiting list for this. Monday 31 March is also the start of registration for courses in September. Further information can be found on the course website.
