In­ter­dis­cip­lin­ary and re­flex­ive: Second closed meet­ing in the "Di­gi­SelF" pro­ject

The project "DigiSelF - Digitisation as a Challenge and Innovation in Higher Education Teaching" invited to its second (closed) meeting on 17 August. "DigiSelF" is funded by the Foundation for Innovation in Higher Education and brings together teaching innovations from all faculties of the University of Paderborn. (Digital) teaching measures to promote students' self-directed learning in digital and hybrid contexts are developed and researched. A special focus of the project is the design of interdisciplinary and inter-institutional transfer.

Interesting results were presented at the second retreat - from three-dimensional laboratory simulations to support services for psychosocial resources and student "culture fellows" who mediate between teachers and students in complex teaching-learning settings.  This year's main topics were evaluation and virtual laboratories in the STEM field. The invited experts, Prof. Dr Sebastian Habig from the Friedrich Alexander University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Dr Michael Blüm from the University of Wuppertal and Dr Christoph Vogelsang and Dr Andreas Seifert from the University of Paderborn, reported on their experiences. In addition, the participants worked on current challenges in workshops: Prof. Dr. Ingrid Scharlau moderated a session on academic writing, while Dr. Tassja Weber presented a proposal for using and creating "Open Educational Resources". Two interactive poster sessions provided insights into the current state of development of the "DigiSelF" sub-projects.

The focus in the concluding third year of the project is on the preparation and provision of the project results in the form of open educational resources. Active transfer work will guarantee subsequent use within the University of Paderborn and support external dissemination.
