In the project "Climate neutral Business in Ostwestfalen-Lippe (Climate bOWL)", scientists from Paderborn University, represented by the Software Innovation Campus Paderborn and the department of Lightweight Automotive Design, are working together with Bielefeld University and the practice partners Miele, GEA, Phoenix Contact and NTT Data on an interdisciplinary basis to support companies in achieving climate protection goals. The path to climate neutrality requires a holistic approach that enables the resource-efficient aggregation and evaluation of greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) as well as the identification and prioritisation of GHG reduction measures. The Climate bOWL project is tackling this challenge by developing a digital assistance system that supports companies with standardised and automated data collection and the identification of efficiency potential. The project has been sponsored by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Innovation, Digitalisation and Energy of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia with 1.86 million euros since April 2022 as part of the "it's OWL" cluster of excellence, with a total project volume of 3.16 million euros.
