New peer coaching group: "Starting Your PhD @Fürstenallee"

Location: Fürstenallee

In the initial phase of their doctorate, many doctoral candidates feel that they are alone with a wide range of interdisciplinary questions. This is where the "Starting your PhD" peer coaching programme comes in: In small groups of a maximum of six people, doctoral students are brought together in the first year of their doctorate so that they can exchange ideas on topics that are currently of particular concern to them in several sessions. The kick-off meeting is on Tuesday, 11 November, at 10 a.m. in Fürstenallee. Those interested can find more information on the course page and can register by emailing earlycareer@upb.de.

At each session, one or two participants will present a current challenge or issue that the group is supporting. Experiences are shared, advice is given and solutions are developed together. The topics that are discussed in the individual sessions can be introduced by the participants themselves. The language spoken during the sessions - German or English - depends on the composition and needs of the group.
