Introduction of the electronic certificate of incapacity for work

Stu­dent as­sist­ants (SHK)

SHK are students who are employed to provide academic or artistic assistance and who do not yet have a professionally qualifying university degree (e.g. Bachelor's degree) in the subject area assigned to their work as an assistant.

Re­search as­sist­ants with a Bach­el­or's de­gree (WHB)

WHB are students who have already successfully completed a university degree programme with a standard period of study of at least 6 semesters (e.g. a Bachelor's degree programme or a degree programme at a university of applied sciences) and who are employed to provide academic or artistic support services.

The ATOSS time man­age­ment soft­ware

Attendances and absences are managed at Paderborn University using the ATOSS software.

Min­im­um Wage Act/doc­u­ment­a­tion re­quire­ments for aux­il­i­ary staff

The provisions of the Minimum Wage Act (MiLoG) have been applicable since 1 January 2015. This results in additional mandatory documentation and monitoring obligations for the employer, which relate in particular to the verification of working hours for students and research assistants.
