Have we piqued your interest? Here you can find out everything you need to know about how to start your individual university didactics training programme! You will also find information on the certification of the individual programme modules and on the recognition of external credits.

Individuals

The Paderborn University qualification programme "Professional Competence for Academic Teaching" is aimed at all teaching staff and/or staff involved in the organisation of teaching. By participating in the programme, young academics in particular receive individual and process-oriented support during their own qualification period. External interested parties also have the opportunity to attend workshops at the HEDU as part of the network Hochschuldidaktik NRW.

Are you interested in further training in academic teaching? Or are you still looking for the right programme for you?

Simply get in touch with us! We will inform and advise you individually and confidentially.

Departments, organisational units, groups

In addition to basic topics, our wide range of workshops and events also offers subject-specific content aiming at the special circumstances of individual faculties and departments.

Do you, as a group or department, have specific requests for further training in academic teaching tailored to your context and subject teaching? Together we will find the right offer for you and organise everything else!

Participation in the qualification programme is generally free of charge for you, but requires a non-binding initial consultation. In this meeting, we will clarify together how you can tailor the programme to your personal goals.

Simply get in touch with us! We look forward to hearing from you!

Certificates of attendance and certificates

After each participation in one of our workshops, you will receive a certificate of attendance detailing the content and scope of the workshop attended.

The modules are also certified individually and after completing the entire continuing education programme, participants receive the overall certificate "Professional Competence for Academic Teaching".

Basic information on the recognition of achievements can be found on the website of the German Association for Higher Education Didactics (DGHD; "Recognition of achievements" available at www.dghd.de/downloads) and the network Hochschuldidaktik NRW (https://hd-nrw.de/qualifizierungsprogramm/).

Recognition of achievements

A maximum of 16 work units of 45 minutes each in the field of key academic skills can be credited towards the certificate programme, as well as 16 units of 45 minutes each from higher education didactics courses that were completed at institutions outside the network Hochschuldidaktik NRW and have not signed the DGHD's declaration on quality in higher education didactics (available at www.dghd.de/teilnehmende-institutionen.html).

In addition to these AEs, credits from external courses can only be recognised after a case-by-case assessment of the content.

In general, no credits can be awarded for courses completed as part of a degree programme or which have already been credited in another completed certified programme.
