Training at Paderborn University
A trainee position at a university – is that possible?
YES! Paderborn University offers more than ten exciting apprenticeship programmes.
Every year a total of 70 trainees complete their vocational training in a wide variety of areas, in state-of-the-art workshops, laboratories and offices.
The general conditions are the same as those common in other enterprises that take on trainees, in terms of both remuneration and theoretical instruction at a vocational college. Training is governed by the Collective Agreement for Apprentices of the German States in Apprenticeship Training pursuant to the Vocational Training Act (TVA-L BBiG).
Examinations are organised by the relevant state authorities. The university also offers internal and external taught courses.
Paderborn University attaches great importance to broad-based and therefore highly versatile training. The quality of the training programme is directly related to each individual trainee’s initiative and motivation.
Available trainee positions are advertised each autumn for the coming year. The deadline for applications is usually in October. Please refer to the advertisements for precise dates.
