Submission possibilities for final thesis
last update: 12/02/2025
General information
Theses can be submitted in printed or electronic form in accordance with the applicable regulations. They can be submitted around the clock, at the latest by 11.59 pm on the last day of submission.
Submission of electronic version
Instead of submitting the bound copies, it is possible to submit an electronic version via a university e-mail account to the relevant ZPS administration department and the assessors (in one e-mail). Here you will find further information on the requirements and instructions on the risks, which you must also take note of as part of the application for admission to the thesis/thesis.
Submission of bound thesis
Submission by post. The postmark is decisive for the submission date.
It is also possible to hand in your thesis at the Central Examination Office, but only during office hours. Please do not put your thesis in the letterboxes outside the offices of the Central Examination Office, but use the Service Centre or the gate (in an envelope addressed to the Central Examination Office) outside office hours.
Of course, the relevant information and regulations in the respective application and letter of admission for the thesis and the corresponding examination regulations also apply.
Only the ZPS confirms the timely receipt of theses by entering the submission date in PAUL under "My exams" (= Handed in on" + submission date).
A valid enrolment status in the corresponding degree programme ("immatrikuliert" or "beurlaubt mit Prüfungsberechtigung") must be available when submitting the final thesis and, if applicable, providing further final credits!

The information in the table below only applies if the submission is made in the normal form in accordance with the examination regulations, i.e. not in the case of electronic submission in accordance with the regulations by university e-mail...
