Diversity in research
Paderborn University considers the inclusion of diversity as an important factor for excellent research. It is committed to a discrimination-free research environment as well as to diversity of perspectives in research. As a research topic, diversity at the university is anchored in various research projects. A particular focus is on the subject areas of inclusion, interfaith and technology.
In this context, the specialist group "Technology and Diversity" of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and the Centre for Comparative Theology and Cultural Studies are particularly noteworthy as parts of the research profile. Another special focus is on inclusion-related research and qualification in teacher training. In order to further sharpen the academic profile in this area, as a result of participation in the Inclusion Priority Programme of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, a total of 17 professorships with a focus on "Special Education" and "Inclusion" in various disciplines as well as the degree programme "Teacher Training for Special Education " and the profile area "Managing Heterogeneity" in the teacher training programme were established at Paderborn University.
