Writing Owls
If owls were to write, they would probably only start at dusk. As soon as the world around them quietens down, they would set off on silent wings - in search of the right literature, the supporting idea, the order in the chaos and the right words to express it all.
But while owls tend to be loners, we find that it is much more motivating to face the challenges of a writing project together with like-minded people. When everyone around you is focussed on their project, what else can you do but do the same? The perfect atmosphere to make a start, to dive deeper into the mental chaos with courage, to create meaning between the lines and finally get closer to the big point at the end, step by step.
What is Writing Owls? Writing Owls is a mini writing retreat series for anyone who wants to make progress on their writing project during the winter semester break - whether it's their first written seminar paper or their final thesis. Together we will take to the wings.
How does the Writing Owls programme work? We meet on four dates, each with a different motto, to work on our projects from 5 to 8 pm. Every meeting is the same. After a short introductory round, we reflect on our writing projects under guidance and set ourselves goals for the day. Then we start the work phase, during which you have the opportunity to consult an individual counselling session. At the end, we record the goals we have achieved and pave the way for further productive meetings. The full-grown owls among you can of course also work beyond 8 pm.
You can register for all 4 dates or just for individual ones.
Bring along: Power supply, all existing preparatory work, possibly headphones, drinking cup, snacks - you are welcome to bring a few more to share.
